Dinky Dolphins

Swimming lessons and fun for babies and toddlers of any ability

About the Dinky Dolphins Team

Our team of swimming instructors have years of experience in nurturing little ones to swim. In a safe, warm and happy environment, your child will be encouraged to learn the different techniques required to become a competent and confident swimmer. We firmly believe that a baby should start to swim from the youngest age possible, however, if your child didn't get the opportunity to start from birth, it's never too late to start swimming lessons.

As our teachers are trained to extremely high standards both within the STA guidelines and through our vigorous in house training, you can be safe in the knowledge that your little ones are in good hands.

We adjust and amend lesson plans and individual activities so they are specifically appropriate for the unique babies and toddlers in each class. Week on week we build on the skills learnt to move towards independent swimming while imbedding water safety and survival skills throughout each session.

We ensure both babies and carers are comfortable and confident with all activities and encourage questions throughout. All of our teachers are passionate about what we do, we are all inclusive and make our sessions fun while nurturing skills and confidence in the water, we strive to get a smile in the pool even if little ones are having an off day. Our amazing, private pools are lovely and warm for our babies (but also for us adults too). All have appropriate facilities and parking on site.

We also offer our clients, through our in house photoshoots, the chance to get those amazing underwater photos of their little ones swimming.

All in all Dinky Dolphins offer both you and your child an opportunity to have fun together, make friends together and for little ones to learn techniques and safety skills required to become competent and confident swimmers.

Our Dinky Dolphins Classes

We are committed to teaching all children of various ages, how to swim with confidence and determination. This is a life skill which is so important and we do our upmost to ensure that your child/children have the capability and interest to swim.

Baby Swimming

Our baby swimming sessions start from birth or until the age of 18 months. Since your baby has been floating in your womb for 9 months, this is the optimum time to teach them to swim.

Benefits of Baby Swimming

Babies can swim before they receive any of their immunisations, it also helps develop their learning & social skills and helps with bonding. Our structured lessons help to build babies core strength and develop their co-ordination.

Tips for Baby Swimmers

Each time your baby swims, bring a disposable nappy, a happy nappy that fits snuggly around legs and waist, 2 towels, a warm hat and changing mat. Wrap your baby or toddler up warm and bring snacks and water as they'll be hungry.

Nicola Walker reviewed Dinky Dolphins

My daughter has been swimming with Dinky Dolphins from 4months old, she’s now 19months and her confidence in the water is amazing. She looks forwards to swimming lessons every week & can confidently jump in & also complete her underwater swims.
People always comment on her swimming when we go to other pools and are often amazed at what she’s capable of at her age.
Whenever I’ve had any questions or concerns about her progress Rhea has always taken the time to discuss these and they’ve been monitored in subsequent lessons which is great.
Thank you!

Hayley Rebecca reviewed Dinky Dolphins

We started swimming with Dinky Dolphins at Snarford in Jan 2019 first with my son Jacob and then my daughter Freya up until July this year. We always had such fun in the lessons and enjoyed singing the songs, the team are so friendly I cannot recommend enough. They were always so accommodating when we needed to swop our swim day one week or change the time. I also loved how they took photos during the lessons a lovely reminder to look back on.

Safety

Drowning is the third highest cause of accidental death amongst children, under the age of 5, in the UK. Our Dinky Dolphins & Sink or Swim team teach you how to teach your children vital safety techniques whilst having fun! All our pools are heated to 32 Degrees, which makes for a warm and content environment for you and your child/ren.

Peace of Mind

We take every aspect of your child’s safety very seriously. All our teachers have the relevant criminal record checks (DBS) and qualified
life-savers and trained to carry out child resuscitation.

Children's Health

Concerning your children’s health, if you’re ever uncertain about whether your child should swim due to illness, feeling unwell during lesson-time or eczema, we can offer advice and information to help you through.

Food

Children shouldn’t be fed
1 hour prior to their swimming lesson. Be prepared though, after all that exercise they will probably be very hungry, so be sure to bring drinks and snacks.

Illness

Never bring your child swimming if you or they have a significant illness, including ear infections, chicken pox or vomiting/diarrhoea. Ensure  sickness/diarrhoea symptoms have cleared for at least 48 hours before your lesson.
